Bergseth Bros. Co. - Downtown Community Partnership
Bergseth Bros. Co. Inc. is a family owned business that has been distributing beer since 1946 making Bergseth Bros., one of the oldest wholesale beer distributorships in North Dakota. Brothers Milton and Arno Bergseth founded the business on March 14, 1946 out of a Fargo garage by going into the fish business, and within a few years offering their first beer product Fauerbach Potato Beer.
Milton and Arno left the wholesale fish business behind in 1961 to concentrate solely on beer distribution. The rest is history, currently Bergseth Bros. employs 41 people and distributes more than 100 brands of beer and covers a distribution area spanning from Ackley, Minnesota to Harvey, North Dakota as they distribute product to 650 accounts.
Milton’s son Rick Bergseth is fully retired (2015) and Milton’s grandchildren Keith (Rick’s son) is the company’s general manager along with Ryan (Rick’s other son) is the company’s sales manager.
The ownership of Bergseth Bros. has transitioned to the third generation: Keith and Ryan Bergseth. They committed to a new 100,000 square foot warehouse that was completed in November 2015.
The new state of the art warehouse is just one example of Bergseth Bros. growth and expansion into the future. Bergseth Bros. has demonstrated generation after generation to compete and grow into the future requires a commitment to innovation, a focus on continuous improvement and service excellence.
