4-Week Intro to Pole Series
An event every week that begins at 4:00 pm on Saturday, repeating until December 28, 2019
This class starts December 7th at 4pm. We will meet every Saturday from 4-5pm for four weeks. We like our class sizes to be small, and will be taking only up to 5 people. So if you are interested, please sign up online to secure your spot. Cost is $80. Students $60.
This is a pole fitness class designed for people who are completely new to pole, people who have taken a long hiatus and want to start from the very beginning, or for people who are familiar with pole but want a conditioning class that will help build their upper body strength on both sides, while also learning the names of all the spins, grips, and holds. All classes will be held on a static, non-spinning pole.
What to expect:
This class is split into sections.
We will start with a strengthening portion on and off the pole that will increase with intensity over the course of the four weeks. We use resistance bands to target specific muscle areas to condition the muscles used for pole, with special attention to upper body and core work. All of our exercises can be modified to fit the intensity that you feel comfortable with.
The second section of our practice we will move on to the pole specific moves. Over these four weeks you will learn various types of spins around the pole, how to properly climb, and start conditioning for inverts.
Lastly we will cool down with a review of the first week’s lesson and stretch. We leave stretching to the end of the class, when the muscles are warm and elastic.
What you will need to bring:
For the first week of class, any kind of comfy clothes that you can easily move around in is fine. We ask that you bring a pair of tight-fitting shorts (think of spandex volleyball shorts) for weeks 2-4 as we will need skin contact to be able to do certain moves safely. A water bottle is also encouraged. Please do not wear lotion 24 hours in advance, as it will make your grip slick and you will have a tough time sticking to the pole.
We are incredibly excited to have you be a part of this experience. We love to share our love of pole with other people and see the strength and confidence that people gain in only a month. If you are interested in learning how to pole we will be your biggest cheerleaders, we want you to know that you are welcome here. It does not matter where you are starting from, you will get better and stronger with time.
