The Rourke Art Museum and its sister entity, the Rourke Art Gallery, provide visitors with access to the region’s and the world’s artistic heritage. Its programs are focused on a deep understanding of and respect for all artistic and cultural traditions. The Museum’s permanent collection is built primarily around works from three sources: the art of our Upper Midwest region; art by important 20th Century artists; and art from the cultures that inspired those artists, including African, Pre-Columbian, Hispanic and Native American plains and woodland cultures. The Gallery showcases work by local and regional artists, from emerging to more established artists. Together, the Museum and the Gallery host between 15-20 temporary exhibitions annually.
