Dr. Craig Howe, Director of the Center for American Indian Research and Native Studies (CAIRNS), will lead an art and poetry workshop in conjunction with the exhibition Lakota Emergence. Participants will delve deeply into the Lakota emergence narrative and will compose original haikus and/or drawings based on the passages and artwork. Followed by a Tour of the exhibition Lakota Emergence with curator Dr. Craig Howe. Howe will discuss how the exhibition was developed and curated, and will describe the relationship between contemporary artworks and the original emergence narrative.
